Mieke is a qualified acupuncturist and has been in private practice at Calmer clinics since 2009. Her approach to acupuncture has been influenced both by her experience as a dancer and Shiatsu practitioner.
Initially trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine she has completed further training in Japanese acupuncture. She recently qualified as Toyohari practitioner, a form of Japanese meridian therapy known for its gentle yet effective approach to treatment.This allows her to use a range of treatment approaches to suit each person individually. Mieke uses gentle needle techniques alongside treatment strategies such as moxa and cupping, with the focus on providing relaxing and effective treatments. In addition to her private practice she has worked with the NHS treating pain-related conditions.
Mieke is a member of the British Acupuncture Council whose members follow high standards of training, safe practice and professional conduct. She is also a member of the Toyohari Association UK and the European Branch of the Toyohari Association, EBTA.

Mieke is available at Calmer Clinics by appointment only on Thursday afternoons from 3 – 6 pm and also ad hoc as available.

  • Initial Consultation (1 hour session) – £75
  • Follow-up Consultations (50 minute sessions) – £70
