Laura Maidment

I truly believe in treating the root cause of why someone is in pain rather than just the symptoms, which is at the foundation of osteopathic practice”

Laura graduated from the British school of osteopathy with distinction and the silver medal award for achievement. She is accredited by the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) and is a member of the British Osteopathic Association (BOA).

Laura has a previous background in treating sports injuries and athletes, and has completed her matwork level 2 pilates training. She incorporates pilates based rehab into treatment where applicable to gain long lasting results and enable patients to better self manage their pain.

Laura also treats using a combination of visceral and cranial techniques in a holistic manner to identify areas that may be predisposing patients to recurrent patterns of pain. She also uses dry needling acupuncture, which can be very effective for acute injuries, headaches, tendinopathies and chronic pain.

Laura treats all ages, including babies and initially takes a detailed case history to gain a better understanding of the patient as a whole, and can therefore help to identify things in day-to-day life that may have lead them to dysfunction.

Her working hours and fees are as follows:

  • Saturday 8am-1pm
  • £80 – first over-18 consultation (60 minutes)
  • £55 – adult follow-up (30 minutes)
  • £60 – under-16 first consult (75 minutes)
  • £45 – under-16 follow-up (45 minutes)
