Pilates Instructor (matwork) APPI certified
“Having a background in physiotherapy, I strongly believe that exercise therapy is an essential part of taking care of oneself.”
With the Pilates Technique we have an exercise method which is either a follow-up of osteopathy or physiotherapy treatments, or a way to exercise safely and prevent musculo-skeletal dysfunctions.
Christie-Anne trained as a physiotherapist in France (Kinesitherapeute) and settled in the UK in 1989. Since arriving, she has been a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
She set up her own practice in SW1 for 10 years, then joined a French private Medical Centre in SW7 until 2011.
Since very early in her professional life, Christie-Anne had been teaching exercises – called “gymnastique douce”- based on awareness of how you breathe, move, carry yourself.
In 2012 she trained with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute and became certified (matwork 3 levels) at the end of that year, allowing her to concentrate on teaching this method.
She mainly deals with : office workers, post-natal rehab, elderly care and musicians’ well-being, but anyone is welcome to call and discuss their own concerns and requirements.
Christie-Anne is available at Calmer Clinics on Thursday afternoons.
