Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy can be used for well being and general maintenance of the body, as well as to address the causes and effects of more specific issues such as:

  • back pain
  • headaches
  • problems with sinuses
  • digestion
  • post-childbirth, both for mother and baby
  • support in pregnancy
  • post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • grief
  • asthma
  • IBS

Throughout our lives we accumulate traumas that we hold at a cellular level in the body.

These held physical and / or emotional patterns create imbalance in our systems, preventing our body from fulfilling the job it is inherently meant to do, to heal itself.

Between the cranium and the sacrum the nerves of our Nervous System emerge and fulfil a vital role of maintaining balance and homeostasis in our bodies via our vital organs.

When our system is not in balance our heartbeat accelerates, digestion is temporarily shut down and adrenalin is released. This is know as ‘fight or flight’, and can have many repercussions on our health when over-activated.

Craniosacral Therapy engages with the whole system using very gentle touch, paying attention to any patterns or imbalances held within us. This unique method of engaging and listening to the body allows patterns to be released and supports the system to integrate and rebalance itself, returning to a more balanced state.

We also work with the fascia to release more deeply engrained trauma.

 What clients say:
‘I used to suffer from cold sores which would flare up regularly with usually 5-6 different sores on my mouth, I was also suffering from frequent colds, coughs, flu and my immune system were generally very low which was making my working life difficult. With Kate’s help, I made some changes to my diet, introducing more whole foods and cutting down on refined, sugary foods and ready meals. I have not had any cold sores since I changed the way that I eat and suffer from half the amount of colds that I used to. I found the consultation really interesting, I found that understanding the effect that my diet was having on my body really motivated me into action’ Dr. Gemma Cloherty  (Clinical Psychologist)
